Educate
We strip away the marketing bullshit and empower people with the knowledge to choose the most efficient, practical, and sustainable vacuum cleaners for their homes.
Universal Body
We will redesign and introduce an universal vacuum cleaner body that supports interchangeable motors, hoses, and electrical cables, offering unmatched flexibility and customization using harvested & new parts.
Repairability Scoring
We will offer an independant scoring alternative to the European repairability index that vacuum producers must self-report. We all know that self-reporting by commercial makers is a flawed concept.
Repair & Refurbish
We support and promote initiatives that encourage the reuse, repair, and refurbishment of used vacuum cleaners and their parts.

Out of 89 entries, FairVacuum has been selected as one of 20 innovative projects recognized by Vlaanderen Circulair and OVAM in their 2024 ‘Design 4 Circularity’ call for pioneering eco-design and circular business models.
Our universal body action plan
Fair Vacuums are designed to be easily repairable by anyone with basic screwdriver skills, empowering users to maintain their appliances effortlessly.
The universal body will be compatible with a wide range of motors, hoses, brush heads, and electrical cables, allowing for the reuse and repurposing of components from discarded or partially broken vacuum cleaners. New spare parts will be available for decades, thanks to our support for many off-the-shelf and highly standardized past, current and future components.
1. DIY kit for Makers
A universal body that allows makers and people at home to easily reuse harvested motors, hoses and power cables from broken household vacuum cleaners.
2. DIY kit for Refurbishers
A universal body that allows recyclers and refurbishers to easily re-assemble vacuums at speed from harvested motors, power cables and hoses.
3. Refurbish Franchises
A franchise partnership concept that allows collectors & recyclers of e-waste to refurbish and sell vacuum's from harvested parts, supported by FairVacuum.
